Readers influence so much of what I write on this blog and in my Tackle Room column in WON. Readers with questions, mainly, about different types of fishing and fishing related tactics. Readers also are to thank for the thought process behind my next book, Getting Bit. “You should put all your columns in one book” was an often-heard comment from readers, especially the ones that bought my first book, The Southern California Angler, at the Fred Hall Shows in 2008 and 2009.

 So that’s what I did with Getting Bit. But the book is not just past columns all bound up in a 6x9 package. It’s columns that have been updated and revamped and added to, with both words and 100 percent color photography. Getting Bit is part past Tackle Room columns and a heavy dose of new material.
