Captain Mark Wisch, author of the best selling books, “Between Two and Twenty Fathoms”, “In The Gray” and "Lessons from A Lifetime on the Water" will host a power point presentation on the fine art of “Hoopin for Lobsters”. You will learn the basics of hoopnet gear, how to properly set up your nets and how to precisely deploy them on structure to greatly increase your lobster catch. Additionally, you’ll learn the F&G regulations and safety tips to keep you out of trouble as well as our favorite recipes for cooking these tasty treats.

Lobster is one of the most expensive culinary delights our Southern California coast has to offer…and they are right here for the taking. Our spiny lobster season is almost six months long, from October to mid March. As a recreational angler, you can only take lobsters by hand or hoop net, so for those of us who don't scuba dive, the hoop net is a perfect way to capture these delights of the deep. Hooping is an easy and inexpensive form of angling with a big payoff…so join us on Tuesday, Sept 27and we’ll show you how we’ll show you how to do it!
